“The annual Farm Fair was started in 1962 to promote public awareness of Hawaii’s agricultural and ranching industry.  Throughout its history, it has touched the lives of more than four generations of families.  Thousands have come every year to sample and purchase local produce and products, experience farm animals, and participate in demonstrations, workshops, and hands-on activities,” said Brian Miyamoto, Hawaii Farm Bureau Executive Director. “We are pleased to be able to bring the fair back this year in our new, and for the first time permanent home in Whitmore Village.”

This Hawaii State Farm Fair serves as one of the most important vehicles for promoting the significance of agriculture to residents and visitors to Hawaii.  Since 1948, It has been the Hawaii Farm Bureau’s commitment to farmers, ranchers, and the community to serve as a voice that protects, advocates and advances the social, economic and educations interests of Hawaii’s diverse agricultural community.

This year, fairgoers can expect much of what they expect. People of all ages will enjoy HDOA’s “Buy Local, It Matters” Education Pavilion’s amazing exhibits and local vendors. As always, there will be some of the freshest locally grown produce and most diverse plants at the Kamehameha Schools’ Country Market and Plant Sale. Keiki will be able to see and enjoy live farm animals up close in the 4-H Livestock Tent. Steers, goats, chickens, pigs and more will delight fairgoers. There will also be festive music, entertainment acts, demonstrations and the very popular fun-filled, on-stage contests. Returning by popular demand will be StevO the clown and for the first time Hui Pū will grace the Farm Fair stage.
